I’m Heather.

Fifteen years in communications. Two comms functions built from scratch. And a house that runs on lists… school calendars, freezer inventories, the whole invisible job.

This year I’m leaving the corporate version of that work to be home before dark. This site is what happens next.

Here’s the part that surprises people: I don’t like smart gadgets. No smart fridge. No robot vacuum with a name. Most of that stuff is clutter with a subscription attached.

But the AI already on my phone? That, I use every day.

It reads the dry erase board on my freezer. It plans dinner around the nights I commute. It caught a salad kit expiring the next day. It has also, more than once, planned my whole week around chicken I didn’t have. I write about both.

What you’ll find here

Every idea comes in three sizes.

Level 1 you can try today, with what you already own. Level 2 means saving a file so you stop re-explaining your house every week. Level 3 is a real system, with a real maintenance cost.

Most people should stop at Level 2. I have the receipts on that.

What I won’t do

I won’t tell you AI is magic. It’s not. When used properly it’s useful, and it’s wrong often enough that you should check its work.

I won’t recommend a gadget for a problem your phone camera solves.

And I won’t show you the highlight reel and call it a system. When something I built falls apart, that goes on the site too. The failures are usually the useful part.

The honest state of things

It’s working… mostly. It needs refinement. I already have twelve more ideas.
