Most of what’s on a household to-do list is remembering, planning, and making lists. That’s the part AI is good at. This site shows how I hand those pieces to AI, one task at a time, with the exact instruction I use so you can paste it into yours.
Which AI?
You probably already have one. A few of the options, and there are more:
- Muse (Meta’s). If you’re starting from nothing, this is the one I’d point most people to. It can act on things for you, not just talk about them.
- Claude. The one I use for most of my house, because that’s where everything I’ve taught it already lives.
- ChatGPT.
- Gemini (Google’s).
All of them have a free version, and everything on this site starts there. If you end up doing a lot with it, you may want a paid plan at some point. I’ll try to note in each post when a step leans on something that isn’t free, but these tools change fast, so check your own plan.
Nothing here needs a smart speaker or a gadget.
Pick something off your list
- Dinner & groceries. A week of dinners and the grocery list, built around what’s already in the house. How AI knows what food is in the bottom of my freezer
- Money. Four subscriptions I had forgotten about, $675 a year. How I’m saving $675 a year on subscriptions with AI
- Holidays. Prep that starts after Halloween, not the day before it. (Coming in October.)
- Birthdays & gifts. Reminders that land while you can still do something about them. (Coming in October.)
- Shopping. I needed new clothes, so I taught it my style and my budget and let it shop. (Coming in October.)
Every post has an instruction you can copy
A few sentences you paste into whatever AI you’re using. Change the details to match your house and go.
It’s a process
AI works best the more it knows about you, so the more you use it, the better it gets. Check what it gives you, and if it isn’t doing what you wanted, tell it. That’s how mine got good. Not magic. Just a tool that improves the more you work with it.
